Why do you need to become a member of the Church?
God wants you — and every Christian — to be part of the Church. Living as a Christian outside the Church is not easy. Cut off from the Church, we can be easily tossed about by false teachings or grow weak in the face of life’s many struggles. Within the Church we have brothers and sisters who care for us. They become our spiritual family — to comfort us, laugh with us, weep with us, worship and pray with us.

God also wants you to serve His Church with the gifts He has given you. The Bible tells us that Christ has given spiritual gifts to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ (Eph. 4:11–12). You may be called to serve as an elder, a Sunday school teacher, or a member of a ministry team. God may even be calling you to serve as a volunteer on a mission field, or to become a minister of the Word (a Pastor).
Whatever you do, remember that God has a place for you in the Church. Pray that God would show you what He would have you do, and then respond earnestly to His call.
